My signature workshop

The letter cake with the initial of the guest of honour

Together, you make a letter cake : a cake shaped like a letter or number, with the initial or name of the bride-to-be, the mom-to-be or the person being celebrated. It works like a master class : I show you each technique, then you do the baking yourselves, guided by my chef's tips and tricks.

  • The demonstration of real ladyfinger sponge, the light base of the cake (the sponges for the final cake are baked in advance)
  • The vanilla mascarpone cream : you make it and learn to whip it like a pro
  • The piping bag : everyone learns to handle it with my chef's tips, an essential basic technique to improve at pastry
  • Fresh fruit in season, cut by you
  • The toppings bar : meringues, Kinder, Reese's, sugar pearls… everyone decorates to their taste

✨ Fancy another version? The letter cake adapts to your tastes: tiramisu, chocolate, red berries… Tell me what you'd like and I'll create a tailor-made workshop.

Frequently asked questions

Your workshop with friends, in practice

How long does the workshop last?

Between 1.5 and 2 hours, depending on the group's energy. I arrive a little early to set everything up, and I take care of the cleanup.

How many people can take part?

From 4 people. The price is $75 per person up to 8 participants, then it decreases: the bigger the group, the lower the price per person. For large groups, I simply adapt the workshop format.

Where does the workshop take place?

Ideally at your home, in your kitchen. The workshop can also take place at your party venue (hall, chalet, Airbnb…). Travel is included on the Island of Montreal; elsewhere, travel fees apply and are stated in the quote.

Do we need a kitchen?

Ideally, the workshop takes place at the bride-to-be's, the mom-to-be's or one of your homes, in the kitchen: it's more convivial and you leave knowing how to make the recipe again. I bring the ingredients, equipment and aprons. If you prefer another venue, a large table and a water source are enough for most recipes.

Can the workshop be combined with a brunch or drinks?

Of course! The workshop lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and fits easily before a brunch, drinks or a dinner. And your letter cake makes the perfect dessert for the rest of the party.

Can we take our cake home?

Of course! You can enjoy your letter cake on the spot or take it home: I provide transport boxes if you ask for them in your quote request.

Can we choose a recipe other than the letter cake?

Yes. The letter cake can be made in a tiramisu, chocolate or red berry version, and we can also come up with another dessert: themed cupcakes, Black Forest cake… Tell me what you'd like in your quote request.

Is the workshop just for women?

Not at all! Bachelorette or bachelor party, mixed baby shower, birthday with friends: everyone is welcome.

Can the workshop be held in English?

Yes, I teach in French or in English, and I can switch between the two for bilingual groups.

How do you handle allergies?

Let me know about any allergies or special diets when you send your request: I adapt the recipe as much as possible. However, the preparations are made in an environment where gluten, eggs, milk, tree nuts and peanuts are handled.
